We offer the following types of towbars:

Fixed Flange Towbar

Fixed Flangeball Towbar

This is the most common type of towbar where the towball bolts directly onto the faceplate. It is the most versatile type of system as it can be used with a wide range of towball accessories.

Advantages of a Flangeball Towbar
  • Most affordable option
  • Tow and use some cycle carriers at the same time
  • Can be used with all cycle carriers
  • Bumper guard, Al-Ko / stabilizer plate and towbar mounted step compatible
  • Minimum maintenance
Disadvantages of a Flangeball Towbar
  • Can be bulky
  • Can sometimes interfere with rear parking sensors
  • Al-Ko ball required for Al-Ko hitch and some cycle carriers
Fixed Swan Neck Towbar

Fixed Swan Neck Towbar

The swan neck towbar can be a little more pleasing on the eye as it is not as wide and bulky. It uses a more narrow neck coming from the main fixing point of the towbar. Due to the narrow neck you are less likely to experience problems with rear parking sensors.

The electrics are also mounted lower down beside the neck. This can be a big advantage if you have rear parking sensors fitted, as there is less of an obstruction at the face of the bumper.

Advantages of a Swan Neck Towbar
  • Mid-range price
  • Less likely to be picked up by parking sensors
  • Compact design
  • Compatible with Al-Ko hitch’s / Stabilizers
  • Minimum Maintenance
Disadvantages of a Swan Neck Towbar
  • Not compatible with bumper guards
  • Not compatible with all cycle carriers
Detachable Swan Neck Towbar

Detachable Swan Neck Towbar

The detachable Swan Neck is ideal for that discreet and almost invisible look. The main neck is simply removed from the towbar frame leaving little or in some cases nothing at all in sight. The towing sockets can also be mounted on a special pivoting bracket where it is rotated up inside the bumper. Overall this gives the impression that a towbar isn’t even fitted.

Advantages of a Detachable Swan Neck Towbar
  • Removable when not in use
  • Compatible with Al-Ko Hitch’s / Stabilizers
  • Doesn’t effect appearance of vehicle
  • Discreet mounting solutions for electric sockets
  • Doesn’t effect rear parking sensors
  • Option to permanently lock neck into place
Disadvantages of a Detachable Swan Neck Towbar
  • More expensive
  • May require maintenance on neck mechanism after long term use
  • Not compatible with bumper guards
  • Not compatible with all cycle carriers
Detachable Flangeball Towbar

Detachable Flangeball Towbar

Like the fixed flange towbar, the Detachable Flangeball system is the most versatile towbar design. With the ability to completely remove the neck, this type of towbar gives the user maximum flexibility for adding the majority of towing accessories, like bumper guards and cycle carriers whilst keeping the appearance of the vehicle neat and tidy.

Advantages of a Detachable Flangeball Towbar
  • Removable when not in use
  • Compatible with Al-Ko Hitch’s / Stabilizers
  • Doesn’t effect appearance of vehicle
  • Discreet mounting solutions for electric sockets
  • Doesn’t effect rear parking sensors
