This particular system is mainly suited to high performance/sports cars or for vehicles without any security fitted as standard. On certain vehicles, your insurance company may require this type of system to be fitted as a minimum. It also allows for maximum insurance discount.
Utilising the original equipment/manufacturers (OE) immobiliser, this insurance approved alarm will upgrade the security level of your vehicle from a Thatcham Category 2, to a Thatcham Category 1 alarm.
It consists of all the features the Thatcham Category 1 system has, minus the immobiliser circuits, as they would already be fitted on your car as standard.
This type of system is only suited for vehicles produced after the year 2002. The majority of UK registered cars from 2002 onwards were factory fitted with an immobiliser system as standard; please call for vehicle compatibility.
The Thatcham CAN bus category 2-1 upgrade alarm is designed for cars using full CAN Bus or semi CAN Bus systems. (Normally found in cars manufactured after 2003).
This system is designed to be used with the vehicles original remote controls, however, if your vehicle has only one remote control supplied as standard, we can add an additional remote to the system (if required). This will prove more cost effective than buying an original remote control from the dealer if another backup key fob is required.
We highly recommend this system for certain vehicles as the alarm is designed and programed to work exactly with the cars original wiring and databus network. The overall outcome gives the user an original equipment installation and a reliable, robust security solution.

If you needed a system to remotely control your central locking and cover the perimeter of your vehicle, but didn’t require an immobiliser or interior sensors this system can be tailored to your exact specifications.
