From a Thatcham approved Category 2 system to a simple piece of mind immobiliser to protect your vehicle, there are mainly 4 different types of immobiliser systems available.
This requires the user to touch a key into a panel on the dashboard to disarm the system. It can isolate 2–3 circuits on a vehicle preventing it from being started without the correct coded touch key. This is the most common type of system and it can be fitted to pretty much all vehicles.
Almost all car manufacturers now use this type of system as standard fitment. Embedded into your key is a chip that is coded to the cars ECU. When you turn the key to the on position the car looks for the code and once verified, turns the immobiliser off. This is all done within the blink of an eye.
With this type of system everything is done automatically. It offers the user a more convenient way of disarming, as there is no need to manually turn the system off.

This type of system uses a keypad/keyfob to disable the immobiliser. Commonly combined with an alarm system, this type of immboliser can be installed as a non-Thatcham simple piece of mind unit or it can be linked together with an approved alarm system.
Installation time can take anything between 1.5 hrs to 3 hrs. If you require a custom immobiliser package for a specific application, please feel free to get in touch.
